Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the beta.
I'm new — how do I connect Zacks to my AI?
It's about a minute. Open the get-started guide — it shows exactly what you need and walks you through the steps.
What is Zacks Connect AI
A free open beta that connects Zacks Investment Research financial data to the AI assistant you already use, so you can ask questions in plain language and get answers grounded in trusted, standardized data.
Is it really free?
Yes. Connect AI is a free open beta — there's no pricing, and access is granted automatically after you verify your email.
What data is included right now?
The beta covers standardized SEC financial reporting — income statement, balance sheet and cash flow — plus headline snapshots, with 5–10 years of history for ~10,000 North American stocks.
Which AI assistants does it work with?
Microsoft Copilot, Claude Desktop & Claude.ai, ChatGPT and Perplexity — any assistant that can connect to a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server.
I already have a Zacks.com or enterprise account — do I still register?
Yes. Register here and use that same email so we can align your records.
Where does the data come from, and can compliance review it?
From Zacks Investment Research's standardized financial database. Records are reported, point-in-time and auditable — built for compliance review.
Can I connect my company's Copilot?
Often you can connect your own Copilot directly. If your company's Microsoft Copilot is centrally managed and blocks personal MCP connections, your Central IT approves the Zacks connection once for the whole organization — we provide an IT brief and work with your IT and security teams to make it easy.
How is my connection secured?
Through an OAuth 2.1 + PKCE consent flow with read-only access. No trading, no writes.
I'm a developer — how do I wire it up directly?
Add the Zacks MCP server to your assistant with the Server URL — e.g. Claude mcp add … --transport http. Authentication runs through an OAuth sign-in, so there are no tokens to copy.
Can I redistribute the output?
No — redistribution requires a separate agreement. The beta is for your own research and analysis.
I pasted the URL but the connector won't add.
Please visit https://get.zackspro.com/zacks-mcp-connections to learn how to connect to your AI Agent. Some assistants also require an admin to allow custom or third-party connectors first.
The Zacks sign-in window doesn't open or gets blocked.
Allow pop-ups for your assistant, then try again. Zacks uses a read-only sign-in — there are no tokens to paste.
Sign-in fails or says access denied.
Make sure you verified your email during registration, then retry the sign-in. If you are stil having trouble please reach out to MCP@Zacks.com.
No data comes back for a ticker.
Coverage is ~10,000 North American listed companies. Check the symbol — private, foreign or delisted tickers may not resolve.
I got fewer periods than I expected.
The default is the 4 most recent periods (up to 40 available); beta history spans 5–10 years. Ask for annual or quarterly explicitly if results look mixed.
The numbers look far too large or small.
Values are reported in millions of the reporting currency — they shouldn't be re-scaled.
My company's Microsoft Copilot won't let me add a personal connector.
If Copilot is centrally managed, your Central IT can approve Zacks for the whole organization once — see the IT brief, or contact mcp@zacksdata.com.
Something else isn't working — how do I get help?
Contact mcp@zacksdata.com and we'll help you out.
